OVERCAST AND COLD A pleasant change was experienced yesterday when intermittent sunshine was experienced. A cold breeze sprang up in the afternoon. Records at Timaru Park yesterday were:— Baromtcr—30.14. Max. temp.—6o. Min. temp, on grass—32.6. Wind—S.E. Rainfall—Nil. Rainfall to date this year—32.7sins. Rainfall to date last year—l7.oBins. Sunshine—l2.Bhrs. Sunshine to date this year—l434.9hrs. Sunshine to date last year—lso3.2hrs. IN OTHER CENTRES Christchurch — Yesterday morning was overcast in Christchurch with a light south-east wind and no rain. The weather improved in the afternoon which was sunny, with a moderate easterly wind. The maximum temperature was 55.2 degrees. The barometer at 5 p.m. was 30.31 and was falling slowly. Ashburton— Although the sky was overcast at times yesterday there was a welcome change in conditions from Wednesday, when rain fell intermittently. Eighteen points of rain were registered on Wednesday, when the maximum temperature was 54.2 degrees. The barometer stood at 30.4 inches yesterday morning. Geraldine— There was bright sunshine throughout yesterday, with a cool south-easterly breeze. Dunedin—The sky was overcast yesterday morning, but the sun shone brightly later. The barometer was steady at 30.32 inches and Hie maximum temperature was 64 degrees. There was a very slight breeze from the north-east.
