i; SYRUP SPONGE > Take one teaspoon mixed spice, * one breakfast cup flour, four :• ounces sugar, i teacup milk, one i; teaspoon baking powder, two :• eggs, one tablespoon butter, one £ tablespoon golden syrup. Warm :• butter, syrup and milk slowly i; until melted. Beat eggs and > sugar, adding the flour, spice and £ baking powder. Last of all add :♦ warm ingredients and bake in ' sandwich tins. >
