INTERMITTENT RAIN Special to " The Timaru Herald." WELLINGTON. November 1. Wind: Light to moderate but freshening south-west to south-east. Weather: Cloudy to overcast with intermittent drizzling rain; temperatures cool. DOMINION FORECAST General Situation The depression which was approaching from the Tasman Sea yesterday has passed eastward, but a secondary depression has developed off the West Coast. Pressure has risen considerably over Tasmania. Forecast Winds: Moderate to strong northwest to westerly over most of the North Island, southerlies to southeasterlies prevailing about the south of Cook Strait and later becoming general; force, light to moderate, but increasing. Seas (N.Z.) waters): Rather rough to rough on the West Coast and in Cook Strait, elsewhere slight to moderate, but later rising on the East Coast of the South Island. Eastern Tasman Sea: North-west to westerly winds prevailing in the northern portion and south-easterlies to southerlies in the southern; force mainly light to moderate, but strong in places. Seas: Moderate to rough. Weather: Cloudy to overcast and in places misty, with intermittent rain in most districts, but more especially the central provinces; improving gradually to-morrow; temperatures moderate in the north, elsewhere cool. Geraldine: Heavy rain continued throughout the day. Temuka: Yesterday was cold and rain fell throughout the day. The maximum shade temperature was 53 degrees and the minimum 45. Up till 4.0 p.m, 61 points of rain were recorded. The glass was rising last evening. AVaimate: 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday: Thermometer, highest 59, lowest 46.2, grass minimum 46; rain 51 points; bright sunshine 24 minutes; wind gauge, miles run in previous 24 hours, 80. Yesterday was overcast and showery, but the temperature was mild. Dunedin: Tile weather yesterday was dull, the sky becoming overcast and temperatures low. The maximum for the day was 54 dtgiees. There was a light breeze during the day, but conditions were calm towards the evening. The barometer rose to 30.00 Inches.
