SCOPE OF AUSTRALIA’S PLAN United Press Association—By £i*ctrtc Telegraph—Copyright (Received November 1, 6.30 p.m.) CANBERRA, November 1, The Minister of Defence (Mr H. V. Thorby) said that of the ten thousand men .vhoni the Government planned to add to the permanent force, bringing its strength up to twenty thousand, 50 per cent would be allotted to the Army, 20 per cent, to the Navy and 30 per cent to the Air Force. He added that Australia could at present mobilise a force if nearly 100,000 men, comprising a permanent force of 10.170 and a citizen force of 38,000, and 50.000 members of rifle clubs.
