YOUTH RECEIVED UROKEN NECK By Telegraph Press Association WHAKATANE, November 1. A visitor from Tauianga. George Wallace, aged 17, came to take part in the opening of the Whakatane Rowing Club’s season on Sunday. Afterwards he went with a party to the Awakeri hot springs. Wallace dived into a shallow bathing pool, struck his head on the bottom, dislocated the vertabrac of his neck and was admitted to the Whakatane Hospital where his death occurred subsequently. An Inquest was opened and after the taking of evidence of identification the inquest was adjourned for a week.
