ART MUSEUM OF RIGA.— The progressive and industrious Letts, proud of their new-found freedom after long centuries of subjection, arc busy building up a national culture. The development of painting is being encouraged and the art museum of Riga is the focal point for this movement. The museum has a wonderful collection of paintings from the brushes of ancient as well as modern masters. The outstanding feature of this art museum is the rich collection of pictures by Latvian artists.
