SOCIAL EVENING

A very enjoyable function was held in the Bay Tea Rooms when Mr W. H. Hall, the National Party candidate for Timaru at the recent general election and Mrs Hall entertained the committee and many others who had helped Mr Hall in his campaign. The guests were received by Mr and Mrs Hall, the latter wearing a black cire lace frock, with shoulder spray of abutilons and a black velvet coat. During the evening a musical programme was very much enjoyed by the guests. Supper was served at small tables, and here the Misses Hall and their young friends acted as waitresses. Before tire evening closed, Mr W. Thomas, on behalf of many National supporters, presented Mrs Hall with a cheque with the request that a piece of plate be bought as a mark of appreciation of Mr Hall’s work during
