WOMEN’S DIVISION
CANNINGTON BRANCH Mrs Squire welcomed members and visitors to the October meeting of the Cannington Branch of the Women’s Divsion of the Farmers’ Union. The half yearly balance sheet was read by Miss M. McKenzie. It was decided not to hold a meeting in November and that Cannington should join Cave for a lecture by Miss Macmillan to be held at Cave. Arrangements were made for the children’s party to be held at Mrs B. Howell’s bush on December 28. After the business had been completed Mrs Squire introduced Miss Austin, of AlEury, who gave a r'ost interesting talk on her travels in Switzerland. A vote of thanks to Miss Austin was carried by acclamation. Results of competitions were.—Bowl of flowers: Mrs Blackmore 1, Miss D. Wisely 2, Mrs Malthus 3. Sponge cake: Mrs Blackmore 1, Mrs J. Little 2, Miss R. Wisely 3. Premier bloom: Mrs Blackmore 1, Mrs Malthus 2, Miss D. Wisely 3. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses Mrs B. Howell, Mrs Attwell and Mrs Blackmore.
