WEDDINGS
McKEOWN—MARCH Many friends gathered at Rangiora on Wednesday afternoon for the marriage of Jeanette, elder daughter of the late Mr G. E. March, and of Mrs March, Hazeldean, Rangiora, to Ivan Baxter, youngest son of Mr and Mrs J. J. McKeown, Hadlow Park, Timaru. The Rev. J. F. Feron, assisted by Archdeacon Purchas, performed the ceremony at St. John’s Anglican Church. The bride was escorted by her brother, Mr John March. Her becoming frock of magnolia satin was made with a shirred bodice and long sleeves pointed over the wrists, and the long train of the skirt showed beneath her veil of unhemmed tulle. A coronet of orange blossom held the veil to the head, and she carried a bouquet of lilies-of-the-valley.
The six bridesmaids—two adults and four children—were Misses Barbara Coop, Maisie Jamieson, Betty Anderson, Jill Jamieson, Marguerite Gray, and Jean McPhail. Their frocks, made alike, were of forget-me-not blue sprigged organza made with Empire bodices, tiny puffed sleeves and long full skirts. Their halo headdresses were composed of field daisies, and they carried bouquets of matching daisies and forget-me-nots. Mr F. G. Darvidson was best man. and the ushers were Messrs Jock and and Max Coop, Hector Macdonald, and J. Raymond. About 200 guests from North and South Canterbury were entertained at the reception held after the ceremony. Mrs March was wearing a smart blue and white frock of figured georgette with a coat of navy wool georgette, and a cream ballibuntl straw hat finished with navy velvet ribbon. Her bouquet was of pink roses and tulips. Mrs McKeown wore a black, coat over her frock of black and white figured georgette, and a smart black hat. Red roses and tulips composed her bouquet. The bride travelled in a cinnamon w'ool georgette suit, an ice blue blouse, a toque to tone, and hands -.me fawn fox fur. Mr and Mrs I. B. McKeown will make their home at Temuka. McGregor—tew Tire wedding took place at St. Martin’s Anglican Church, North East Valley, Dunedin, on October 22 of Lillian, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs F. Tew, Timaru, and Ronald McGregor, Dunedin. The officiating clergyman was Rev. Curzon-Siggers. The luncheon was held at the home of Mr and Mrs B. Leathern, “Liberton.” The future home of Mr and Mrs McGregor will be Roxburgh.
