TO-NIGHT'S CONTEST All arrangements have been completed for the professional middleweight championship contest to be held to-night between George Allan (holder) and Cliff Hanham (challenger). The champion will be seconded by Messrs J. Summers and T. Thomson, and the challenger by Messrs W. A. O’Connor and D. Eddington. An attractive series of amateur bouts has been arranged between teams representing the Timaru and Ashburton Associations. The local team will be headed by Wesley Jack, who recently won the middle-weight title at the New Zealand amateur championships. Also representing Timaru will be J. McMahon, A. Prattley, P. Dwyer, and B. Fitzgerald. Tire doors will open at 7.30 and the programme will commence at 8 p.m. The following officials will control the tournament Referee, amateur bouts, Mr J. J. Stewart; judges, Messrs C. C. Campbell and C. E. Triggs; announcer, Mr W. Best; timekeepers, Messrs L. E. Eaton and J. O’Leary. Official seconds, Messrs A. Clarke, H. Gledhill, W. Weston, W. Murphy and L. Ennis; house officials, ringside, Messrs W. Andrews, G. Bohm, J. Duncan, T. Fairhall, R. Seaton, P. Wright and K. Wright; dress circle, B. Halpin, J. Elder, L. Kilgour, W. Gow, A. Souter, A. Hopkinson; stalls, Messrs W. Davie, L. McGregor, H. Heads and J. Toneycliffe. Reserve sales for the ringside and dress circle so far are the best for many years.
