Albury Presbyterian Church Tribute to Minister At the annual meeting of the Albury Presbyterian Church, and the triennial visit of the Presbytery, the Rev. E. E. Andrews presided and extended a welcome to the Rev. J. S. Strang and the Rev. W. McNeur, both of whom addressed the gathering and expressed their pleasure at the continued good work that was apparent in all branches of the Church’s activities. Vocal items were given by Mrs Strang and Misses Muriel and Anne Smith, and instrumental items by Mr Arthur Smaill. Annual reports were presented by the Albury Sunday School (Mr A. Smith), Cave Sunday School (Miss Wisely), Albury Bible class (Rev. Andrews i, Cave (Mr Hopkinson), Mt. Nessing (Mr lan Waters), works committee (Mr Heddell), session report (Mr C. T. Norton», board of managers (Mr J. Campbell). All reports were regarded as most encouraging, and as bearing testimony to the harmony that existed throughout the parish. The session extended to Mr and Mrs Andrews, on behalf of the people of the parish, their appreciation of the faithful work being done. Particularly was it manifested among the young people of the church. The report concluded: "Truly we can say of Mr Andrews. He is a workman that needeth not to be ashamed.’ ” The financial report, as revealed by the balance-sheet, again showed that interest was not lacking. The giving to the stipend fund had decreased £2, but Sunday collections had improved to the extent of £35. the giving to missions by £B, and the flower show by £3O. The following were elected as the Board of Managers: Mrs Austin. Messrs J. Little, W. Little. A. Wisely. R. McKenzie. R. Heddell. B. Smith, A. Smith, P. Kidd, lan Waters. J. Barr and J. Campbell (secretary), and Miss Austin (treasurer). The members cf session are: Messrs C. H. Heddell, I. H. Smith, J. Groundwater. R. Wisely, J. Crawford, J. McKerchar, A. Fyfe, D. Morrison, D. Elliot, and C. T. Norton (clerk). Votes of thanks and appreciation were passed to Mr A. Austin, who for a great number of years audited the books, and to Mr J. Little who. after acting as church treasurer for nearly twenty years, wished to be relieved, and to all who had given of their time and talent to help on the work of the church. A pleasant hour was spent in social intercourse at the conclusion of the meeting, supper being provided. GOLF MACDONALD SUCCESSFUL A stroke competition played on the Strathconan links was won by J. Macdonald. The best cards were:—

R. J. Gillingham and A. H. Gillingham will contest the final of the senior championship, the former having beaten W. B. Trotter and the last named W. J. Whitehead. In the final of the junior championship, B. F. Hayman will play the winner of the match. W. A. Morton v. S. Jones. In the semi-final of the mixed foursome knock-out, Mrs W. Whitehead and C. H. Miller beat Miss McLean and W. A B. Morton on the 19th, and Miss S. Keeffe and W J. Whitehead beat Mtss E Jones and W B. Trotter 5 and 4 For a second grade stroke competition, J, McLean returned an excellent net 64. the best cards being:—

“ ROSE OF TRALEE ” Binkie Stewart heads the cast in the picture “Rose of Tralee,” which is being screened at the De Luxe Theatre, Fairlie, to-night at 8 o’clock. Featured with her are the eminent Irish tenor, Danny Malone. Fred Conyngham and Kathleen O’Regan. Binkie carries almost the entire burden of the story on her tiny shoulders, and helps to bring about the re-uion of her mother and long-lost father, Danny Malone sings many old popular Irish numbers. Amongst them are, “Rose of Tralee.” "Mountains o’ Mourne,” ‘ Down on Finnigan’s Farm,” “Come Back to Erin,” and “Did Your Mother Come from Ireland.”
