TRANS-CONTINENTAL MATCH BIG WAGER MADE (Received September 27, 6.30 p.m.) LOS ANGELES, September 26. J. Smith Ferebee wagered 100,000 dollars that he can play 600 holes at golf in a four day trans-continental match. Starting at dawn he played 83 holes, then flew to Phoenix where he is playing 84 before nightfall. He is playing 72 holes each morning and afternoon at Kansas City, St. Louis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Philadelphia and New York. He must do every 18 holes under 100.
