FOUND DROWNED
PENSIONERS END By Telegraph Press Association AUCKLAND, July 13. I "Found Drowned" was the verdict returned by Mr F. K. Hunt (Coroner) | at the inquest into the death of a pensioner and match vendor, Walter Withy (58), whose body was found on the beach at Okahu Bay, Orakei, on the morning ol June 24. Because blood was found about the dead man’s eyes, an apparent air of mystery surrounded the discovery, and detectives were called to investigate. A post-mortem examination, however, revealed that the blood had been coming from small bites on Withy’s eyes. The Coroner said that there was no evidence to show whether or not death had been suicidal.
