BALL AT ST. ANDREWS

The St. Andrews Public Hall presented a festive appearance on the occasion of the twenty-seventh annual ball given by the spinsters and bachelors. The grand march was led by the joint secretaries, Miss Alma Smith and Mr Pat O'Loughlin. Music was supplied by an orchestra assisted with extras by Miss Nancy O'Donoghue. Messrs.E. Cosgrove and J. Blank were masters of ceremonies. The prizes for the lucky spot waltz, given by Mr P. Dalliessi were won by Miss D. Brophy and Mr V. Coughlan, and the lucky ticket dance by Mr and Mrs Hall (Waimate). The arrangements made for the function reflected credit on the chairman 'Mr L. Kane), the secretaries, Miss Alma Smith and Mr P. O'Loughlin, and the committee comprising Misses P. Kennard, D.
