Two British gliders participating in the national gliding contest at Dunstable, Bedfordshire, broke the world two seater record by 21 hours 2 minutes, held in Germany, besides the British record for any glider of 13 hours 7 minutes. The names of the competitors were Flight-Lieutenant W. B. Murray stationed at Farnborough, and Stanley Sproule, aircraft engineer.
