TRANSPORT STRIKE

There is no prospect yet for a settlemen of the transport strike. Workers are going to their offices in taxis, convoyed by lorry loads of Sikh police. Thousands of Singapore office workers walked to their offices on Thursday, owing to a strike of the entire staff of the Singapore Traction Company, tying up ous and trolly-bus services. Taxis were commissioned by the Government to help solve the transport problem.
