Mrs White, presided at the March meeting of the Claremont Women’s Institute.
Regret was expressed at the resignation of Mrs Dunnill who has left the district.'
Mrs Talbot gave an interesting talk on a trip through Central Otago. The month’s competitions resulted as follows.—Jam jar of mixed flowers: Miss Armstrong and Mrs Seyb equal 1, Miss Greig 2, Mrs Talbot 3. Article made from sugar bag: Miss Seyb 1, Miss Greig 2, Mrs Cunningham 3. Mrs White in vacating the chair thanked all members for their support during the year. Mrs Talbot proposed a vote of thanks to Mrs White for the able way in which she had carried out her duties. This was carried by acclamation.
The report and balance-sheet were then read and proved very satisfactory.
The new committee is as follows: Mrs White (president), Mrs McFedries and Mrs Seyb (vice-presidents), Miss Seyb (secretary), Miss Armstrong (treasurer), Mrs Talbot, Mrs Cunningham and Miss Fowler, Miss Armstrong being in charge of the sales table and Miss Fowler of the competitions.
