BRITAIN’S IMPORTANT PLANS United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, January 9. “The Sunday Despatch” reports that Air Ministry experts are testing a second “Strathosphere Special,” a sister machine to ‘he Bristol with which the world altitude record of 53, 937 feet was achieved. Both machines are convertible two-seaters. It is intended to have four men flying at an altitude of nearly 10 miles to obtain information concerning the greatest heights at which it is possible to maintain a regular and steady fli.'.t, and to take photographs and carry out radio tests.
