BURIAL OF EGYPT’S KINGS
DISCOVERY OF IMPORTANT TOMB United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received January 6, 8.30 p.m.) The Cairo correspondent of “The Daily Telegraph” says: A tomb found at Sakkara, may prove the original burial place of Ahamenes, first king of the first dynasty of the historical kings of Egypt, which he founded. Historians variously place the date of his death in 5546 to 3500 B.C. A small tomb discovered at Abydos years ago, had previously been regarded as the royal mecropolis of the First Dynasty. The Sakkara tomb has been rifled but contained alabaster vases.
