SCARLET FEVER CASE

GIRL FROM HEALTH CAMP The girl from the Waimate Health Camp admitted to hospital on Tuesday with symptoms of scarlet fever has been diagnosed as a positive case, and notification has been sent to Dr. T. Fletcher Telford, Medical Officer for Health. Dr. A. G. Pitts, medical officer for the camp, stated yesterday that he did not think it necessary to isolate the camp, but that any action in this direction would depend on instructions from Dr. Telford.

The girl arrived by bus from Timaru with the other children on Tuesday, but was placed apart from the others when found to be unwell. Arrangements at the camp have been proceeding smoothly, and the children yesterday morning enjoyed a swim in the public baths.

Mrs McGregor Walmsley, who is in charge of the camp, stated that those in charge would welcome any donations of fruit, vegetables, honey or cream from residents in the district.
