INTERNATIONAL TRIANGULAR MATCH INTERESTING GAMES IN V AUSTRALIA United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received January 6, 11.5 p.m.) MELBOURNE, January 6. Rain interfered with the playing of the first series of international triangular tennis including players representing Australia, Germany and America, at Kooyong stadium. The court, although it was covered between the showers, was slow. The results were as follows.— Mako defeated Henkel 3-6, 6-0, 6-0. Von Cramm defeated Bromwich 6-2, 7-5. The doubles match between Budge r.nd Mako and Quist and Bromwich was postponed. After losing the first set, Mako won the next twelve games, in two love sets, easily defeating Henkel. When Mako was leading 4-0 in the last set, play was held up for two hours. Mako played a clever variety of chip shots and slices, completely upsetting Henkel’s timing. The German, however, found many opportunities of going to the net, where he volleyed consistently and severly. Von Cramm hit harder than Bromwich, and had great control over his shots. He served several aces. Von Cramm led 4-1 in the second set, but Bromwich, driving with better length, evened to 4-4. After that Von Gramm’s service enabled him to win 7-5.
