IMPRESSIVE FUNERAL
LATE CONSTABLE BUTLER By Telegraph—Press Association WAIPUKURAU, January 5. The funeral of Constable James Butler, who died at Dunedin on Sunday allegedly from kicks by a drunken man, was held this afternoon. The coffin was escorted from the railway station through the main street to the residence of his mother, thence to the cemetery, by 42 policemen representing the uniform and plain clothes branches of the force. The cortege was headed by Inspector D. Cameron, of Napier. There were numerous floral tributes, including several from North <and South Island police stations.
