YOUTHFUL ESCAPADE

It has been confirmed that Miss Gertrude Bennett, aged 17, eloped and married Russell Hughes, aged 21. atAuburn, Indiana, last night. Before the Revelation G men were called in when the father revealed that he was very concerned over Gertrude’s safety. At first Mr Bennett discounted the report that Gertrude may have eloped with a college boy, Russell Hughes, who is also missing from his stepfather’s home where he and Gertrude visited at 3.5 p.m. on Monday. When he left his home, Hughes took an extra pair of shoes and a spare suit. A thousand police were engaged in the search throughout the State.
Miss Bennett, a daughter of Mr Harry Bennett, one of the five highest paid executives of the Ford Motor Company had been reported missing since January 3. Mr Bennett said he had received threatening warnings to look after his wife and daughters. Mr Bennett called in G Men and discounted the report that Gertrude might have eloped with a college boy.
