SOCIAL EVENING

MISS M. COONEY HONOURED A very enjoyable evening was held at the residence of Mr and Mrs J. Cooney, Morven, recently, when more than 100 friends gathered to bid farewell to their daughter, Miss Mary Cooney, who will leave on Saturday to take up a course of training at Wellington. The evening was passed in dancing and games. Songs were sung by Miss R. Fleming and Messrs A. Shrimpton and E. Cooney. After supper, Mr W. Fleming expressed to Miss Cooney the best wishes of the company for her success and happiness in her new sphere, and called up Miss L. Winter to make a presentation. Miss Cooney suitably replied.
