Worth-While Institution Speaking at the Boys and Girls’ Agricultural Clubs field day at the Waiwakaiho Showgrounds, New Plymouth recently, Mr G. H. Buckridge, said that in Canada, the banks, recognising the value of the clubs there, financed boys and girls in the purchase of calves. Money was lent to them at 4 per cent, interest to be paid back when the stock was sold, generally at two years old. He expressed the hope that financial institutions in New Zealand would take a similar interest and render assistance to the clubs in the Dominion.
