SWIMMING

WEST END CLUB The West End Club continued its weekly competitions in ideal weather conditions last evening, and although the entries were not so numerous as usual, the spectators present were treated to some excellent swimming. R. King who has been showing good form this season gave D. Shanahan a good tussle in the scratch race and appeared unlucky to be placed second. Those swimmers who are to undergo further trials for selection for the New Zealand championships took advantage of the opportunity for a further try-out.
