HEAT WAVE
ONE DEATH IN QUEENSLAND United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received January 3, 10.45 p.m.) BRISBANE, January 3. Blistering heat with temperatures of 110 and 112 degrees during the last four or five days caused one death and the collapse of a number of old persons in Central Queensland. The hospital authorities at Blackball had a set of electric fans flowing over blocks of ice to keep the patients cool.
