After hours under the “third degree” Count Pozzi di Borghos, a millionaire and a former lieutenant in Colonel De La Rocque's Fascists, has been arrested on a charge of association with criminals. Surete detectives investigating the C.S.A.R. plot state that General Duseigneurs asserts that di Borghos was associated with him in the leadership of the Union of Defence Committees to suppress Communism. When his vast mansion was searched di Borghos protested that his only relations with plotters was the vicepresidency of the Union of Committees of Self-defence. His duties consisted merely of paying the rent of offices. The funds of the plotters totalled £230,000, and most of it is believed to have come from French industrialists, together with some from Germany, which has also supplied arms. The plotters are believed to have ramifications in French Africa, where investigations are proceeding. Eugene de Lonele, ringleader of the Cagoulards, after his arrest, was taken to Sante prison. A Brussels message states that the Due de Guise, pretender to the throne, and his son the Comte de Paris, have issues a communique stating that they undertake to keep out of politics while in Belgium.
