HARBOUR AT CAPE
GIGANTIC WORKS PLANNED United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received November 28, 6.30 p.m.) CAPETOWN, November 27. The Dutch firm Hollandsche Anneming Matechappij, were successful with the contract price of £1,125,262 for the first stage of the reconstruction of the Capetown harbour. There were three British and seven French tenders. The harbour work will occupy 3 J years, and will cost from £3,000,000 to £6,000,000. It will result in the.creation of a new city, with wide boulevard, modern buildings, a new railway station, and the largest docks in the Southern Hemisphere, on land reclaimed from the sea.
