The Milford track vzas opened for the season last week, and is reported to be in good order. Practically all the snow has disappeared from the Mackinnon Pass, and prospects for the season are stated to be good. The first tourists to walk the track this year were Dr and Mrs McKenna, of New Guinea. The Maunganui is due to arrive at Milford on Saturday, and seven passengers will disembark to walk the track. Among them will be the Consul for Holland In Sydney (Mr Vlgeyono), who will be accompanied by his wife. They will visit Queensti, m, and then tour the southern lakes. The steamer service on Lake Te Anau will be under the control of the Tourist Department this year. The department is also making additions to the camp at Cascade Creek.
