HONEY PRODUCERS
CONFIDENCE IN MARKETING POLICY Members of the South Canterbury Beekeepers’ Association expressed their confidence in the Government’s’ marketing policy at a meeting in Timaru on Friday. The president, Mr W. Watson, of Geraldine, occupied the chair. During a keen discussion on the state of the Dominion market, members expressed the opinion that some form of price control was necessary to prevent cut-throat competition. The following resolution was carried unanimously: “The South Canterbury branch of the Nations Beekeepers’ Association wishes to express its confidence in the Government’s marketing policy, and to urge that the complete control of honey be brought under the Primary Produce Marketing Department in time for the new season’s crop.”
It was decided to forward a copy of the resolution to the Minister of Marketing. Hon. W. Nash, and to the Minister of Agriculture, Hon. W. Lee Martin.
