HAWKE’S BAY APPLES All prospects for a record production of apples In Hawke’s Bay this year are being fulfilled as the fruitset reveals exceptionally heavy crops in practically all cases. With the possibility of further severe frosts at this stage considered negligible many orchardists have already removed their oil-pots from the orchards. Indeed, even if frost was experienced now the fruit has in the majority of instances reached a stage where the risk of spvorp rinmaep would be slight.
