To-day at 1.30 p.m. at the Wentworth Auction Mart, Messrs Runciman Pryor, Ltd., will hold a sale of Singer machine, pianos, furniture, etc.

H. Allchurch and Co., advertise a very large catalogue for their Rialto sale to-day commencing at 12 o'clock with poultry and pigs. At 1.30 they will sell in their yard a variety of articles. At 2 o’clock a quantity of very superior and modern household furniture, Axmlnster and Wilton carpets, etc. At 2.30 they will offer on behalf of Mi’ A. F. Stocker his property and seed cleaning and crushing plant at Washdyke. The furniture rale will be continued after the property sale.

Millions of pine trees have been planted In the Federal Capital Territory since the Commonwealth Government initiated a commercial forestry policy for Canberra in 1915. Financial results are already being shown as five hundred trees a week are now being sawn into building timber at Canberra mills. These trees represent a thinning out process in the thick forests of Mt. Stromlo. When the first plantings reach maturity in about ten years’ time, a busy lumber camp stripping 500 acres of forest every year, will be established with tangible dividends for the Commonwealth.
