WORK AT BATHS
BOARD TO ASCERTAIN NEEDS Several requests for improvements required at the Domain Baths were made by the Temuka Swimming Club to the Domain Board in a letter considered at Wednesday night’s special meeting of the Board which, after reviewing the matters, decided to make an inspection before taking any action. The urgent need for lighting over the baths was the first matter mentioned, the letter stating that it was intended to give instruction in swimming during “learn tb swim” week, and that the water would be required during the evening. It was also Intended to hold a water carnival early in December. Other matters requiring attention were the provision of conveniences for swimmers and the numbering and defining of the dressing cubicles so that they could be divided separately for men and women. The Board decided that the provision of lighting was a matter particularly concerning the club, and that therefore it would take no action. The other requests would be dealt with after an inspection had been made.
