PEDLARS’ FAIR
FUNCTION IN WESLEY HALL Under the auspices of the Banks Street Methodist Ladies’ Guild, a Pedlars’ Fair was opened in Wesley Hall yesterday afternoon. The hall has been tastefully decorated in red, white and blue streamers, while the several stalls have also been attractively arranged. The Guild has been working assiduously for some months in preparation for the fair, and the collection of goods was a most attractive one, and the articles met with a ready sale. A spray of roses was presented to the Mayoress, a posy to the wife of the Minister (Mrs B. J. James), and a spray to Mrs C. Bowker, a pioneer member of the guild. The committee responsible for the arrangements was led by the president (Mrs H. Holdgate) and the secretary and treasurer (Mrs R. McAlister). The stalls are in charge of the following members: — Needlework —Miss F. Budd (convener), Mesdames H. Brown and J. G. Oates. Arts and crafts —Mrs W. Irwin (convener), Mesdames C. Shackle and A.
