AUSTRALIAN MANUFACTURE OF NEW GUN United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph-Copyright (Received November 24, 6.30 pm.) SYDNEY, November 24. • A Government ordnance factory at Maribynong is preparing to begin the manufacture of the new British antiaircraft gun about which, according to the recent cable messages, there is great secrecy. The secrecy surrounding Great Britain’s new anti-aircraft gun, the existence of which was recently revealed in a guarded written reply in the House of Commons by Sir Victor Warrender, who baldly announced the gun’s perfection. It is understood that the military authorities are satisfied that after years of research and huge expenditure the gun will prove effective against air raiders.
