SEED MERCHANTS

DOMINION CONFERENCE By Telegraph -Press Association HASTINGS, November 24. Little hope of a seed-testing station being erected in the South Island was held out to the delegates attending the New Zealand Seed, Grain and Produce Merchants’ Federation Conference, held here last evening, by Mr Nelson Foy, of the plant research station, Palmerston North. He intimated that if the present station was removed from Palmerston North it would certainly go to Wellington. Seed stations were very expensive to maintain, and it was considered that the present institution was now sufficiently well staffed and equipped to deal with present requirements.
