PLEASANT VALLEY

DANCE The Pleasant Valley Tennis Club held a most successful dance in aid of the new court fund. Supporters were present from clubs as far distant as Milford and Clandeboye. Novelty dances were won by Miss Grindell and W. Gale, and by Miss E. Padgett and A. Morris. Music was supplied by an orchestra and Mr T. Robinson was M.C. Those present included: Mr and Mrs H. Kelly, J. Buckley, . .. Wilks. TENNIS CLUB Mr R. Wilks presided over a good attendance of members at a meeti-; of the Tennis Club. On the motion of Mr C. Leary it was decided to rescind a previous motion, “That new members be permitted to challenge where they wish.” It was agreed to leave the 1 arrangement of the men’s ladder to the club captain, Mr H. Worner. A challenge from the Woodbury Club to play a friendly match next Saturday was accepted. The balance-sheet for the last dance was presented by Miss M. Webb. A credit balance was shown. It was agreed to place a levy of 1/on all members to assist in defraying supper expenses. On the motion of Mr H. Worner, it was decided to thank Mrs Burdon for a donation, and Mr C. Stringer who has offered a cup for competition. Tire following will represent the club in the shield game on Saturday: Misses M. Webb, A. Murphy, E. Padgett, T. Brophy; E. Webb, J. Leary, R. Worner, H. Worner.
