The aeronautical writer of “The Times” says: “Each capable of carrying five tons, two flying boats, which carried out the Atlantic experimental flights will re brought in ..y the Imperial Airways to help with the Christmas mails to Africa. Other additional flying boats will also participate. There will be no extra services to Karachi, as the carrying capacity will be increased by the substitution of flying boats for the land planes, but two extrr liners will go to Singap;.T( and one extra to Akyab. It is likely that the Quantas services between Singapore and Brisbane will be duplicated.

The Australian Associated Press correspondent learns that only the final word from the British Government, which is expected in a very short time, stands in the way of the public announcement of the details ol the Australian, New Zealand Pacific liners. It is understood that Sir Edwrrd Beatty (chairman of the Canadian Pacific Railway) through whom the announcement probably will be made, has confided to his friends that the plans have been completed down to th' smallest detail, and the contracts for the various divisions of the construction work are ready for the. signature of the Canadian, Australian and N' v Zealand line. The agents, moreover, have already made purchases of large consignments of special equipmenl ta the United States, for the installation of th' liners, and the representatives of the line are ascertaining 1 -.ffic possibilities and ire arranging fi ture alignments on bookings throughout the United States.
