SHOT DEAD

DEATH OF NOTED FINANCIER United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received November 22, 10.15 p.m.) BRUNSWICK (Georgia), Nov. 21. Howard Coffiin, financier, was found shot dead in his apartment with a rifle beside the body. The discovery was made by J. D. Compson, vice-president of one of the Coffiin companies, who was to have accompanied him on a deer hunt tomorrow. The servants said that Coffin ate a hearty meal and appeared in the best of spirits shortly before his death. His hunting garments were carefully laid out. Officials agree that he probably accidentally discharged the rifle while preparing the equipment. An Inquest will be held to-morrow.
