STRUCK ON HEAD

YOUTHFUL CRICKETER’S DEATH By Telegraph—Press Association NEW PLYMOUTH, November 22. Struck on the head by a cricket ball on Saturday, Alfred Jordan, the 11-year-old son of Mr A. G. Jordan, New Plymouth, received injuries that resulted in his death in hospital yesterday. The accident occurred in a paddock during an Impromptu game, in which several children took part. The boy, who was batting, missed a ball that was gathered in by another boy behind the wickets. The latter intended to return it to the bowler at the other end. As he threw it, however, it slipped from his hand and struck Jordan behind the ear.
