CATHOLIC BAZAAR
INTERESTING TUG-OF-WAR CONTEST Previous successes were eclipsed on Saturday, when the Catholic bazaar held at St. Patrick’s Hall, Browne Street, drew a record attendance. Interest was mainly centred in the tug-of-war contests which provide thrilling sport. After an series of exciting pulls Brain Lee’s team emerged the winners with Fishermen second and St. Andrews third. The various stalls and side shows did a thriving business and a deal of entertainment was lent by the expert dancing of Mrs Lynne’s pupils. To-night a series of challenge tugs-of-war will be staged and some close results are expected. Bargains galore are still to be had from the stalls, and patrons will be entertained by the dancing of the pupils of Miss Gordon.
