POLAND’S “BENCH GHETTO”
SEPARATING JEWS AND ARYANS LIKELY EXTENSION OF PLAN United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright (Received October 6, 5.5 p.m.) WARSAW, October 6. As on Indication of the present tendencies of the regime, the authorities of the Warsaw Polytechnic have established a "Bench Ghetto” system, unknown even in Germany, whereby Jews and Aryans will be separated In lecture rooms. The benches will be marked exclusively for each. To-morrow the Warsaw University will have seats numbered, in which students will sit according to identity cards. The numbers for Aryans will be all even numbers, occupying half the room, while the Jews will have all the odd numbers and will occupy the remainder. No doubt other schools In Poland will act likewise. Possibly eventually the system will be adopted In omnibuses, trains and theatres.
