The Berlin correspondent of “The Manchester Guardian” says: Taking a lr*d from Herr Hitler's recent speech Dr. Bueckerberg’s speech is regarded by the newspapers and political quarters as re-emphasising Germany’s claim to colonies. Such words as “Our rightful property,” and “our right to colonies” are -eappearing in print and are being heard tn conversation. It is even possible to detect a firmer attitude since Signor Mussolini’s visit. Thus “The Deutsche Allegemeine Zeitung” says: “The best way to safe juard peace is to meet the vital needs of the nations, and the surest way to r is to withhold them. Our attitude may be arrogant, but we cannot help this.” Although Herr von Ribbentrop (German Ambassador in London) has “sen called home, ostensibly for a health cure, it is widely surmised that he has come to receive fresh instructions on the campaign for the return of colonies.
