PLEASANT VALLEY
GYMKHANA BALL The Pleasant Valley Hall was filled almost to capacity on Saturday night, when the Country Queen Committee held a most successful dance, as a fitting conclusion to the gymkhana held during the day at Raukapuka. All present entered into the carnival spirit, spending a most enjoyable evening. Mr L. Neutze and Mr E. J. N. Hannah were supported by a capable band of helpers. Mr M. Earlier in the season mortality was high, but with the exception of the week-end during which the province experienced a severe southerly gale, losses have been few. Losses of up to 20 were experienced during the gale of last Friday week. September was a mild month at Pleasant Valley, the average temperature at 9 a.m. being 43. Four light frosts were experienced, the heaviest being 4 degrees. Rain fall on four days, the heaviest fall being on the night OX Friday. September 24. PERSONAL Mr and Mrs G. H. Stonyer, Orari Bridge, are sepndlng a holiday with their daughter, Mrs F. R. Wilks, Pleasant Valley.
