OPPOSITION AFFIRMED By Telegraph —Press Association WELLINGTON, July 19. By 80 votes to 20 a meeting of primary school teachers in Wellington today endorsed the policy of the New Zealand Educational Institute in its oppos* H on to the Bible-in-Schools Bill. Tlie motion was as follows- “That this meeting of primary school teachers endorses the policy of the Institute in asking for the non-extension of the Nelson system.” An address on the subject of religious instiuction in schools was given by Dr. William Boyd this morning at one of the opening seminars of the New Educational Fellowship. He said religion must develop in a free, happy spirit. It forced on teachers and pupils, it became a mere useless, if not harmful form. There was an attendance of about 200.
