Saturday’s Trial
It is interesting to note that in the New Zealand team which played in Wellington on Saturday were six former All Blacks, as follows:—R. R. King (West Coast), 1934-35-36; D. Dalton (Hawke’s Bay), 1935-36; N. A. Mitchell (Southland), 1935-36; W. E. Hadley (Auckland), 1934-35-36; E. S. Jackson (Hawke’s Bay), 1936; J. G. Rankin (Canterbury), 1936.
Dalton, Hadley and Reid formed the front row of the All Blacks scrum in the two test matches against the Australian touring side last season.
“The Rest” contained the following former All Blacks:—G. D. M. Gilbert (West Coast), 1935; J. L. Griffiths (Wellington), 1934-35-36; R. M. McKenzie (Manawatu), 1935-36; S. T. Reid (Hawke’s Bay), 1935-36; R. H. Ward (Southland), 1936,
