CONDITIONS IN TIMARU Saturday was overcast after heavy rain during tire night, while a cild southerly wind made conditions very cold and wintry. The few gleams of sunshine which appeared fitfully during the day amounted to barely half an hour, but yesterday was a complete contrast, more than eight hours of sunshine being recorded. The barometer was falling slowly, and registered 30.31 in. at 4 p.m. yesterday. Ashburton—Ram fell heavily on Friday night and Saturday morning, tire fall for the 24 hours being 50 points.
