INTOXICATED DRIVER By Telpuraph Prw Association CHRISTCHURCH, July 16. James Bernard Beban was fined £l5, and had his licence cancelled for twelve months by Mr E. C. Levvey, on a charge of being intoxicated in charge of a car. HARD LABOUR IMPOSED By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, July 16. A sentence of 21 days’ hard labour and his license suspended till May 31, 1940, was imposed by Mr J. H. Luxford, S.M., on Alfred Samuel Erickson (57), painter, for intoxication in charge of a car. He crashed into the back of a parked car at Miramar. He said he had about a dozen beers. A year ago he was fined £lO. and had his license suspended for three months.
