MINISTER ANSWERS CRITICISM By Telegr'•.ph—Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, July 16. A denial that the Minister of Rail-, ways or the Department had misled the people of Oamaru and failed in foreshore protection work there, was issued by the Hon. D. G. Sullivan to-day, when referring to the recently published report of the Borough Council meeting. Mr Sullivan pointed out that the Mayor and all the Councillors except one had expressed themselves quite satisfied with the work done by the Department. Mr Sullivan recalled that the protection scheme was originally proposed by Mr F. W. Furkert, and endorsed by many leading engineers. Mr Sullivan indicated that additional plant was being secured, and prophesied the successful accomplishment of a difficult task.
